In your attempts to progress, you will be spending three types of resources, namely energy, gold, and astrogems. There are generally two methods to acquire astromons, that is either to capture them in the story stages or to summon them through various different means. Note that these are not technical terms, but are conceptual ones that are meant to guide you in your progress. There are two broad phases of progression, that is, acquisition and powering up. The more powerful your astromons, the more you can progress through the harder contents of the game. Your gameplay is governed by your astromons and their strength. The hero-collector aspect refers to the astromons, and they are what you will use in all of the major content. In this game, the gacha refers to the items and units you get for progression. A hero-collector is a type of game that progresses multiple types of playable units all at once, rather than just focusing on a single playable character. MSL is first and foremost a gacha game, which means there is a heavy element of randomness involved in the game, and most often than not, this is also accompanied by a hero-collector aspect. Note: I will not be delving into PVP for this guide, as per my experience, it is completely possible to go through the early-game to mid-game without engaging in PVP content. The third part covers the shops available in the game, which is useful knowledge to have in order to know what things are worth buying with your limited resources.
